Covid Gyan Initiative : Glimpse
Scientists and engineers have been working together on an unprecedented level to study the behavior of SARS-CoV-2, the virus causing COVID-19. They are trying to understand how the virus spreads, develop better tests for it, and create new technologies to combat it. They are also looking at ways to deal with social distancing and evaluating the effectiveness of communication during this pandemic. In April of 2020, a program called Covid Gyan was started to provide accurate scientific information about the pandemic.
Covid Gyan Associated with TIFR, IISc, TMC etc
The Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), and the Tata Memorial Centre (TMC) are working together to understand how viruses and diseases spread and how to prevent them. They have partnered with Vigyan Prasar, India Bio science, and the Bangalore Life Science Cluster (BLiSc), which includes the Institute for Stem Cell Science and Regenerative Medicine (inStem), Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms (C-CAMP), and National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS). Together, they have launched the Covid Gyan website on April 3, 2020, as one of their initiatives.

Covid-Gyan Program/Session
In the Covid Gyan program, mental health and well-being were seen as important aspects of knowledge and platforms for sharing information. To support this, we introduced various articles, infographics, and a special interactive community program called the Sundowner Sessions, all focused on promoting well-being. These sessions happen online in a webinar format where experts from the scientific community and other fields discuss important topics. The sessions are led by a Covid-Gyan member and cover subjects that are important to society. Some of the topics discussed include parenting during the pandemic, feeling tired of news, women who work from home, and how science is communicated in the new normal.
